The Furious

Nachdem seine Tochter von einem skrupellosen Verbrechersyndikat entführt wird und die korrupte Polizei untätig bleibt, nimmt Wang Wei (Xie Miao) ihre Rettung selbst in die Hand. Auf seiner Suche trifft er auf den kompromisslosen Journalisten Navin (Joe Taslim), der seit dem mysteriösen Verschwinden seiner Frau einen persönlichen Feldzug gegen das Netzwerk führt. Getrieben von Verlust und Vergeltung geraten die beiden Männer in einen brutalen Strudel der Gewalt - und stellen sich einer übermächtigen Organisation, die keine Zeugen hinterlässt.

THE FURIOUS, der bereits nach seiner Weltpremiere auf dem Toronto Film Festival für Furore sorgte, bringt neben Kampfkunststar Xie Miao ("Master der Shaolin") mit Joe Taslim und Yayan Ruhian zwei Fanlieblinge aus "The Raid" zurück und hebt perfekt choreografierte Martial-Arts-Action auf ein neues Level. After his daughter is kidnapped by a ruthless criminal syndicate and the corrupt police fail to act, Wang Wei (Xie Miao) takes matters into his own hands to rescue her. On his quest, he encounters the uncompromising journalist Navin (Joe Taslim), who has been waging a personal crusade against the syndicate ever since his wife’s mysterious disappearance. Driven by loss and a thirst for revenge, the two men are drawn into a brutal vortex of violence—and face off against an all-powerful organization that leaves no witnesses behind.

THE FURIOUS, which caused a sensation following its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, brings back martial arts star Xie Miao (“Shaolin Master”) alongside two fan favorites from “The Raid”—Joe Taslim and Yayan Ruhian—and takes perfectly choreographed martial arts action to a whole new level. The film was directed by Kenji Tanigaki, who was responsible for the stunts in “City of Darkness” and the acclaimed live-action adaptations of the “Rurouni Kenshin” manga, among other projects.
